The Yankee Lobster Company is owned by the Zanti family, and has been in business for many generations. Their story started with family patriarch Guiseppe Zanti Sr, who came to America in 1898. But the story of the Yankee Lobster Company starts in 1950, when grandsons Joseph and Frank convinced Guiseppe Jr to start a wholesale lobster sale business. The Yankee Lobster Eatery can be found on Northern Ave in the Seaport district.

The seating area is small, but there is a heated outdoor area to the side of the main building. While it did not factor into the rating of the lobster roll, it should be mentioned that the outdoor seating area was hotter than the surface of the sun due to overhead heating elements that were evidently set to not only toast the diners' buns, but also the lobster roll buns a second time.
The Yankee Lobster Lobster Roll is served in a paper basket lined with a thin wax picnic-blanket styled sheet. It would be a surprise if anyone who orders this lobster roll does not immediately observe the yellow-tinted lobster pieces. This evokes confusing feelings of both surprise and delight, salivation and disgust. Despite these confusing feelings, there is no confusion as to what it is: a lobster roll.

The portion size of this lobster roll was certainly adequate for its price, and the included fries were also tasty. The roll itself was a bit disappointing, as the hot butter soaked and destroyed the roll's integrity like a hot knife through butter. By the middle of the roll consumption, lobster had fallen out into the basket like rain from the skies in April.
All said, the Yankee Lobster Lobster Roll did not disappoint, but it also did not stand out. In a city that takes such pride in lobster-ing, it risks fading into an obscurity of "good, but not special."
